11pm, the night before Thanksgiving. Not what I was hoping to find in the oven. I put the beans and foil on after 3 minutes of cooking and it was too late.
Wasn't taking any chances the second time. This baby's got 2 cups of beans and 2 layers of foil. It pretty much worked.
The two sides aren't even and it cracked when I dropped it on the oven door, but most of that will be hidden with filling.
My pie crust rolling technique could use some work. Otherwise the apple turned out well.
Meanwhile, Dan started to work on brining the 18.5 pound turkey.
Next year, we'll get real brining bags instead of trying to use oven bags. Luckily most of the brine went into the sink when the bag exploded.
3:30pm on Thanksgiving -- the turkey is done, although the breast isn't as golden as Dan hoped.
Sweet potatoes a la the Pioneer Woman
